Typical Weekly Schedule

So after skyping with my mother last night, I decided to post our typical weekly schedule so you all can see what we do each week.

Sunday's we leave for the bar at 9am.  Some people get breakfast there.  Then we head off to church, which stats around 10:30 and lasts till about 1pm.  Once a month we have agape, which is a potluck after service.  Sunday evenings we go to the Harding Villa to have English worship service with the HUF (Harding in Florence) group.  At 9:15 we head to the train station to feed the homeless.  We usually go to McDonald's after that to get a drink or a small shake, so it's usually around 11:30 at night when we get back.

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays we have a meeting here at 7:30am to discuss events and talk about plans, classes, etc.  Monday through Friday, the four of us in Italian school, leave for class at 8am and we get back around 1:30pm.  On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, Rosa is here to make lunch.  She usually has it ready as soon as we walk in the door from school.  It's around 3pm when we have finished eating and cleaning everything up.

Monday nights we have a simple supper that we take turns making.  It's at 6:30.  At 7:30, we have a Bible Study here at the school that our students, friends, or people from church can come to.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons/nights all of us Avanti workers are giving our English lessons.  We all have different schedules based on when our students could meet.  For example,  I have one student Monday at 4pm, another Tuesday at 6pm, and my last one on Wednesday at 6pm.  I also have a grammar class with four students.  That meets on Tuesdays at 9pm.  Alan only has two students right now - one at 6pm on Monday and the other at 7pm on Wednesday. Once we are done with language school, we will take on a heavier load of students.

We each have assigned laundry days.  Alan and I share a laundry day on Wednesday.

Thursday we have Bible Study at the church building at 8:15pm.  However, we host an "event" at 6:30pm (such as: a singing, a service project, a prayer night, or a night for the kids), and then we make dinner for everyone at 7:30pm.

Friday we call "physical Friday."  On this day we do things around the school that need done (cleaning, fixing things, etc), or we do something for a friend or church member that needs something done (for example: last week they helped Paolo fix his bathroom), or we do something in the local community.

Saturday is our day off - usually.  There are occasional Saturdays where we have things planned or we have church events or meetings to go to.  For example, this past Saturday, the girls went to Pistoia for the Tuscan Women's Retreat.  I did not get to go since I've been sick in bed all weekend.  I heard that it was good though, and they got to meet some more Christian women that live here in Tuscany.  Also, they had the lock-in at the church building last night.  I will have Alan write a paragraph about that in a future post, because I also missed that since I've been sick all weekend.

So, as you can see, we are really busy!

Thank you again for making all of this possible through your prayers and support!  If anyone ever wants to ask questions, feel free to email me or Alan!
