The Italian Bible Project
Hey everyone!
Yes, we're still here in Italy! If you're wondering why the blog has been even more quiet than usual, it's because I no longer post updates specifically about our work on here anymore. I do continue to write letters to our supporters and to those who have specifically let me know that they wish to receive our newsletters. If you'd like to be added to the mailing list, then please let me know.
I will still continue to use this blog occasionally to give some basic info on what we are working on and also just fun tidbits of our experiences here.
For this post, I'd like to tell you all of a project Alan is working on. If you use a Bible reading app on your phone for a reading plan, then you might be familiar with The Bible Project. If you aren't familiar with them, their mission is to show that the Bible is a unified story that points to Jesus. They do this by, in addition to making a reading plan, making short animated videos that explain the overall picture of each book and major concepts. Alan is currently translating the videos into Italian. He has finished four videos this year already. We originally asked church members to help with checking the translation and to do the voice recordings; however, with everybody's busy schedule, Alan had to keep waiting to get anything done. He finally decided to hire professional narrators and proof readers, and we've been told by Italians that the ones he picked are good ones. ( Whew! 😅 )
It costs about $70 a video. Alan's goal is to do one video a week, but we can't keep up at this pace with our own personal budget. We are looking for people who think this particular ministry would be helpful here in Italy, and would like to specifically support this work. If so, please comment below or get in touch with us through our contact us page and we can tell you how you can support this work.

We really think these videos, even though they are simple, give a good overview of how the whole story comes together. We hope that they'll encourage the youth in the Italian churches to dig into their Bible every day with the videos and reading plan, and we hope that they'll help make the big picture of the Bible more evident for our contacts who are studying the Bible.
